Just popping in to share a little creative goodness....

These pages were done in my Dylusions Journal.  I prepped the pages with gesso days before i even thought about what I might do next.  I find that its better for me to work in stages.   I used an old gift card to spread my initial layers of paint....super easy, and super cool!  I also used modeling paste for the first time.  That definitely adds some nice dimension.  My photo is not the best, but I think I like this busy colorful spread.  Of course I used various Unity Stamps all over....because I heart Unity Stamps!!!!!

Its Friday…

The sun is shining…

I feel so blessed….

Life is good!

I have 2 new loves:  Viva Décor Pearl Pens, and Twinkling H20’s.  I don’t know what rock I have been under, but Twinkling H20’s are so beautiful and vibrant.  Not to mention easy to use. 

My project was inspired by this beautiful piece from Michelle Mathey.  She is super talented, and I always find something on her blog that sparks my creative juices!

I started out by drawing my design with a pencil.  Then I went over it with a black pearl pen.  The funny thing is I have had this pearl pen for years, but after being exposed to Tammy Garcia’s Watercolor Playground Class @ 21 Secrets…..I am all about playing with watercolors now!

Looks like I am going to need another black pearl pen…..Unless I can find something else…..Any suggestions?

And yes I had to use my newest Unity Stamp for my sentiment.

What gorgeous pages! Right now, as a newcomer to Alcohol based markers, that is my favorite medium. I do also like the water color pencils.

Mixed Up Media Chix Blog Hop – Faux Stained Glass!

Welcome to the  Mixed Up Media Chix  blog hop!

We are just a bunch of girlz that love to create, and share. 

And here is mine…..

For my project I decided to do a faux stained glass page.  It was inspired by this tutorial.  I started with watercolor paper, then I took a Viva Décor Pearl Pen, and drew my design.  Once that was dry, I colored my page with Twinkling H2o’s.  This was my first time to use Twinkling H2o’s, and I can see lots of creating with these in the future!  They are filled with such rich and vibrant color.  And finally I used lots of beautiful sentiments from Unity Stamps!

We hope that you hop along with the Art Journal Girlz, because there is certain to be some fabulous inspiration along way!!  And some of the ladies have some wonderful prizes give away!

Here is how I interpreted the quote for this project....I started with a fresh clean page of watercolor paper.  And even though it was destroyed from clean to color....It became beautiful art to me!  Since I am still fairly new to art journaling, I am somewhat surprised when I start a project a certain way, then something changes it (for instance...the outline on this sheet was perfectly glossy....In my attempt to get my page to lay flat, I layed it under some books etc....well when I pealed it away from the magazine that was ontop...some of my perfectly pretty glossy outline came off!  No worries....a black marker to the rescue, and a not so perfect project.....After all its not about perfection for me....Its about enjoying the process, and often times the end result....
